True to striving to enjoy the most of every day I am choosing to treat today as the holiday that it is and allowing myself permission to avoid housework! I’ve watered my few garden herbs and veggies, checked the extended bus schedule for optimum firework appreciation (read avoiding the parking nightmare downtown) and am currently sipping a yummy cup of joe.

Perhaps not typical 4th of July fare I’ve been craving bolognese and am going to whip up a delicious Giada De Laurentiis’ recipe that the whole family likes. I modify it by using 1/2 ground beef, 1/2 ground italian sausage and normally triple the recipe (using one huge 106 oz. can of crushed tomatoes), freezing half for a quick dinner at a later date.
