Why 2.0?

Home Economics have evolved. They’ve gone from that of our mother’s and grandmother’s day into near extinction only to recently emerge in craft and a new sense of value in thrift and economic frugality. It would be an error to quickly pigeonhole Home Economics as the mere duty of housecleaning and grocery shopping; it is much more.

Home Economics 2.0 is a second wave, much like the new generation of the internet. No longer recognizable to its predecessor it is due a new set of guidelines and parameters. Home Ec 2.0 reflects a desire and intention to make conscious choices, those that honor and respect all living things, the earth and the individual. It is far reaching; blessed with technology society has never been closer to more resources, collaboration, support and creativity.

So, please feel free to join me as I navigate through menu creations, sewing projects, interior makeovers, housekeeping, gardening, crafting, budgeting and many other aspects of my days. And remember, my goal is to enjoy the process at least as much as the result.
